A very quick experiment with keying in AE. Ilene's was shot against a green fabric "screen" slung over the curtain rod in the bathroom. The un-ironed green screen put AE to the test.

Pie Tin Frisbee

This was a sketch for a spot illustration for Boy's Life on the origins of the Frisbee. Never was quite satisfied with Pee Wee's pose. It's buggin' me, man.

David and I Made a Film!

It's pretty impressive for the several minutes we spent on it. I found this great, free software called Monkey Jam that works with your digital camcorder to make stop-motion movies or pencil tests. It's a blast!

Line Work Done! Thank Goodness

Our air-conditioner is out so my left arm has been sticking to my Wacom tablet as I've been doing the line work. That's probably too much info. Sorry.

Vacation is So Over!

Back to the drawing board. With all the uncertainties of camping, it was nice to return to something certain - due dates.

Turning 10

Q: What's better than turning 10?
A: Turning 10 in Murdo, South Dakota! Doesn't get any sweeter. We just returned from a week of camping in the Black Hills and boy was it fun. But we left with a 9 year old and returned with a 10 year old. Coincidentally, near Murdo is also where the time shifts back by one hour if one is due west.

Gripp Trip

Just returned from a great trip out to Santa Barbara with the lovely and talented Bev Carlson to see our new best friend, Parry Gripp (founder of the Nerf Herders and creator of the totally awesome album "For Those About to Shop, We Salute You") He and his wife make for gracious hosts and Bev and I are furiously calculating when and how we can fanagle another trip.

Cousin Earnie's in town for the RV show and he's staying with us. Funny, seeing as he's got a humongo motorhome parked outside.

Just finished September's PW. I usually feel like doing a little happy dance when I finish one but it's usually late at night and I'm tired. So I celebrate by turning off my computer and crawling into bed. Wheee!

An Old Promo

Came across this illustration done years ago. Had big plans to make postcards, send them out to potential clients, keep a record of who got one and who responded. But then I think a Seinfeld rerun was on and I got distracted.

The Gang's All Here!

We had quite a nice and brief hail storm yesterday which produced what you see in these pots. The kids had a nice time at the hail harvest.
