Shucks... all my Dad ever made for my Cub Scout Den was a huge "block-like" (looked like a retangular end of a 50's sci-fi rocket) flag stand that didn't really work right...sigh...

Still grooving on your Goldbergian/Seussian "extendo-gadgets" out of hats etc.
That flag stands sounds kinda neat, actually! I remember my dad making me the light table that's in the back of the Walter Foster Animation book by Preston Blair. Thanks for the nice comment! Some day I'll have a hat like that.
